Joining the Lab
The FASTlab is always looking for the best and brightest. Super-hackers and math stars -- you'll find a great home here. Those with both talents are specially valued here. All of the projects in the lab require a mix of computer science (algorithms, programming languages, compilers, systems, databases, high-performance computing, software engineering, systems, artificial intelligence) and mathematics (statistics, probability, linear algebra, optimization, convex analysis, functional analysis, approximation theory, signal processing, geometry, abstract algebra, category theory). Our mix also often includes heavy doses of physics (astrophysics, electrostatics, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, particle physics), biology, chemistry, and business/operations research.
